Boston's Annexed Towns and Some Neighborhood Resources: Hyde Park

Boston is a city of neighborhoods, owing mostly to the fact the Boston as we know it today is an amalgamation of towns that were annexed in the nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Introduction

In 1868 the Town of Hyde Park was incorporated from parts of the towns of Dorchester, Milton, and Dedham.  It remained a separate town until 1912, when it was annexed to Boston.  It was the last annexation for Boston.
