Boston (City) Departmental Reports: City Council Proceedings

These volumes comprise the record of the legislative body of the City of Boston.  Up to 1909, Boston had a bicameral government, with a Board of Alderman and a Common Council which were replaced by the unicameral City Council.  Until 1947, the record of the proceedings included the text of the debates.  With the passing of Chapter 447 of the Massachusetts Acts of 1947, the proceedings have become the minutes of the meetings.
