Boston's LGBTQ+ History: More BPL Resources

We Are Pride is a list of books published in the previous year for all ages concerning the diverse experience of the LGBTQ+ community. These lists are part of the Boston Public Library's annual observance of LGBTQ+ Pride Month since 2017. You can also view the digitized We Are Pride booklets online via Internet Archive.

BPL members have access to Kanopy, a streaming service for acclaimed movies and documentaries. Kanopy creates collections of movies, including an LGBTQ+ collection.

The Lambda Literary Awards celebrate more than 150 LGBTQ writers across 26 categories spanning a number of genres, lived identities, and experiences. BPL publishes lists of numerous Award Winning books, making it easy for patrons to place holds on extraordinary books.
