MakeMake

MakeMake has 300 Spanish-language eBooks for children. The collection includes picture books, read-along books, and interactive books. The interface and search are also in Spanish.

Kate Messner - Authors & Illustrators Share Resources

Here, you’ll find a growing collection of resources that include everything from first-chapter and picture book read-alouds (all shared with permission!) to drawing and writing mini-lessons as well as authors reading their own books. 

International Children's Digital Library

The ICDL Foundation's goal is to build a collection of books that represents outstanding historical and contemporary books from throughout the world. Ultimately, the Foundation aspires to have every culture and language represented so that every child can know and appreciate the riches of children's literature from the world community.

StoryBlocks

Storyblocks is a project of Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy, working in partnership with Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Services. It is a collection of 30-60 second videos designed to model to parents, caregivers, and library staff some songs, rhymes, and fingerplays appropriate for early childhood. Each video clip includes helpful early literacy tips to increase caregivers’ understanding of child development and pre-literacy needs.

FableVision Learning

FableVision Learning is an educational publishing company that develops creating learning tools for teachers. They're sharing story and illustration kits, short animated films, and other creative educational resources on their site for free.

Scholastic Learn At Home

Scholastic is offering day-by-day "learning journeys" for students in grades PreK-9 with articles, quizzes, games, and reading quests.

STEAM

New England Aquarium Virtual Visit

The doors of the New England Aquarium might be closed, but join the staff as they share live presentations, videos, and activities to try at home.

Scratch

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge.

PBS Kids Crafts and Experiments

Explore fun and educational activities for the whole family. 

Girls Who Code, a nonprofit devoted to closing the STEM gap, is now offering downloadable CS activities for free. Check back each week as they share a new coding lesson and activity!

MIT Full STEAM Ahead

MIT FULL STEAM Ahead is a collection of resources that MIT is putting together for teaching and learning online. These are meant as a rapid response to the need for online resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will curate existing resources for K-12, higher education, and lifelong learners, as well as provide a weekly package of relevant materials for K-12 students and teachers.

Museum of Science

The Museum of Science may be closed but they're adding new content to their website every day! They're providing free webinars, daily live streams with museum educators, town halls on science topics, a science and tech podcast for teens and tweens, and STEM activities for families.

Zoo New England's Citizen Science Resources

BPS Early Learning

The Department of Early Childhood is committed to supporting children, families, and educators through this tumultuous time. We have highlighted a number of resources below to address the unique challenges and opportunities of learning at home for our youngest children.

Khan Academy

We’re a nonprofit with the mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.

Clever

Clever is a portal of teacher-approved applications that students and educators can use in the classroom. Clever-integrated applications are enabled with single-sign on and sync automatically to our Student Information System (SIS) to create student accounts and update classroom rosters. The portal also allows for customizations that may or may not be integrated.

WGBH Distance Learning Resource Center

WGBH has curated a selection of free resources from the extensive PBS LearningMedia library and other WGBH Education initiatives, with a focus on self-directed activities. Their resources cover PreK-Grade 12, cover a wide range of commonly-taught and interesting subjects, and are presented with time estimates to help caregivers select activities.
