City Academy - Mayor's Office of Workforce Development

City Academy is a training pipeline for Boston residents. There are two free training tracks to City Academy: CDL/Hoisting training and Emergency Medical Technician training. Both tracks prepare trainees to access entry-level City positions

PowerCorpsBOS

PowerCorpsBOS is a green jobs program that provides young people ages 18-30 with training, career readiness support, and connections to employers in the green industry. An “earn and learn” program, PowerCorpsBOS pays members to participate in hands-on training that prepares them for living wage careers.

Harvard Kennedy School Workforce Almanac

The Workforce Almanac is an interactive directory offering a comprehensive view of nearly 17,000 workforce training providers across the country. The Almanac is for policymakers, employers, training providers, practitioners, and researchers who are interested in increasing quality and equity in workforce training pathways.

North American Indian Center of Boston

NAICOB provides occupational training, educational support, GED assistance, resume writing and interview training, work experience program, college and higher education counseling, and job search assistance for eligible American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian/First Nation individuals

Apprenticeships are quality career paths where employers can develop their workforce and job seekers can get hands-on work experience, classroom instruction, a certificate, and get paid at the same time. Apprenticeship opportunities include, but are not limited to: pharmacy technician, real estate, building trades, banking and finance, security, and more.

JVS

Gain the skills you need to prepare you for a new career. JVS has training programs for a bank career, hospitality services, nurse's aid, pharmacy technician, and patient care technician.

America Works

America Works provide hard and soft skill training, interview preparation, back-to-work support, and training and certification opportunities that can help you advance in your career.

International Institute of New England

Join a job skills training program at IINE. Many classes take place online or through hybrid instruction. Program graduates enter careers in construction, healthcare, hospitality, and service industries, often then moving up to higher positions with greater responsibility and better pay. Sign up now and prepare for your new career.

IINE offers intensive job training programs for those who have medium proficiency in English and a minimum of six months of work experience in the U.S.

Boston Public Library has partnered with Grow with Google to offer the Google Career Certificate program. Google Career Certificates can help you prepare for jobs in data analytics, digital marketing & e-commerce, IT support, project management, and user experience (UX) design. The Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development

The Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development oversees several programs and collaborative initiatives designed to promote economic opportunity for Boston’s residents including education programs such as the Tuition-Free Community College Plan.

Modern States Education Alliance is a non-profit dedicated to making a high quality college education free of cost and accessible to any person who seeks one. Modern States’ initial program, Freshman Year for Free, is intended to let students earn up to one year of college credit without tuition or textbook expense.
