The Trustee's room was the original site for Boston Public Library Trustee's meetings. The large painting on the left side of the photograph is John Singleton Copley's oil painting “Charles I Demanding the Five Impeached Members of the House of Commons.” The woodwork in the Trustee's Room was taken from a Paris building from the First Empire (1804-1814/15). The French Renaissance fireplace is constructed of grey limestone.
